What is Clinical Pilates?
360 Physio proudly offers clinical pilates to the local areas of Revesby, Padstow & Panania. A gentle and effective form of exercise that will reduce your pain levels, improve balance, flexibility and postural control. Clinical Pilates at 360 physio effectively strengthens your “deep core muscles” that join to your spine. This prevents any unwanted wear on your joints that cause pain.
What is the difference between Clinical Pilates & gym-based pilates?
You may have never heard of clinical Pilates before, or you may be wondering if there is a difference between that and traditional Pilates. There are a few very significant differences between the two:
A thorough assessment is undertaken by a physiotherapist to determine exactly what the causative factors are behind your particular condition so that your program can be tailored to your specific problem.
If I have an injury or condition, when can I be ready to participate in Pilates?
Our experienced physiotherapists are fully qualified in Clinical Pilates and will design a program that meets your needs and accounts for your underlying injury or condition so you are safely able to commence a programme no matter what your level of pain or disability.
What equipment will you use in Clinical Pilates?
The resistive exercises we teach at 360 Physio involve use of spring loaded reformers, floor mats, therabands, trapeze tables and swiss balls.
How does it all work?
Your first Pilates session will be an initial consultation with your therapist. This will enable your program to be designed, accounting for your age, goals and underlying condition.
Your therapist will teach you the program, ensuring the exercises are performed safely and effectively.
Your physiotherapist will then progress you to a Clinical Pilates studio session, which will contain a maximum of 6 people.
